Happy Thursday! I woke up this morning nice 'n' sore. Cheer practice yesterday was a mix of it all. Jumping, Stunting, Routine run-throughs, whew, my muscles ache something wonderful!
I'll be completely honest with y'all. Yes, I was busy finishing up Les Mis, working on finals, etc. for the past few weeks, but a big part of why I wasn't posting as often was because I really wasn't feeling all that great about my healthy lifestyle. I hadn't been exercising, my food choices were pretty darn bad, I wasn't feeling too great about myself, and I was so incredibly lethargic. I didn't want to post because I felt that I couldn't talk about healthy living if I myself wasn't living it as well. Needless to say, I'm thrilled that for once after about 3 weeks, I feel completely normal again. And it's fantastic.
I think I just needed a good workout and a couple days of really watching my healthy choices to get me feeling better. It's amazing what a little bit of movement and nourishment can do for the soul!
Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming....
So yesterday after cheer practice, myself and a few other friends headed out to a friend's house in the country for a "Let's Kick Off Summer the Right Way" Cookout. We swam, had an interesting experience with a golf cart (DO NOT pile 9 girls on a golf cart at once. You end up pushing it back up a hill, barefoot, in the sun. Whoops.), and enjoyed a barbecue and s'mores. Since I'm not up for posting a picture of a bunch of teen girls in swimwear on the Internet, how about we just go with this one?
If you can't get a good look, I'm the one second from the left. We actually ended up only swimming for about 20 minutes before getting out. The sun hasn't heated the water up too much yet, so it was chilly!
I don't have a dinner picture, so just imagine a plate of grilled chicken, veggies, sliced fruit, and about a gazillion marshmallows. 'kay? :)
Mini Review: Brownie Crunch
I was pretty darn satisfied when I got home yesterday evening, but as soon as I walked into the kitchen and saw this wonderfulness, I HAD TO try some.
As I'm sure most of y'all know, I'm a die-hard chocolate lover. And these Brownie Crunches? They didn't disappoint in the slightest. Posted on the Brownie Crunch website, the founder, Seth Greenberg created the brownie crunch after an epiphany:
"however… as he watched his daughter break off and enthusiastically eat the crispy edges of the brownies he’d learned to bake at his father’s elbow, Seth remembered that as a boy he’d done the same with William’s brownies. Perhaps it was time to rethink the very concept of the brownie.
The result? The Brownie Reinvented! It consists entirely of those crispy edges and it’s called BROWNIE CRUNCH."The Brownie Crunch is exactly as it says it is. Basically the edge of a brownie. When biting into it, the first thing I noticed was the taste. While being all natural, the brownie crunch had ALL the flavors of an indulgent brownie.
Health wise, these bits of yum aren't too shabby. They're 120 calories for 1/4 of the bag (OHHHH YEAHHH), and have a bit of protein as well. The only complaint that I can find with the brownie crunches is the sugar. It's the first on the ingredient list...yikes. However, I feel like with any brownie product there will be quite a bit of sugar. Gotta live a little!
I tried the Chocolate Chip flavor, but Brownie Crunch also has the flavors Mint Chocolate Chip, Toffee Chip, Orange, and Cinnamon Cappuccino. I definitely plan on trying them all!
Are you a chocolate fan? Which of these flavors would you want to try most?
