Queen of Protein

Morning, friends!

...I don't have much to say about that...except for "Benny says hi!"

That dog is a mess!

Breakfast

Yesterday, I decided that breakfast was going to be the QUEEN of PROTEIN, aka Greek Yogurt :)

23g in a serving??? YES!

I added in a Trader Joe's Rolled Oats and Chocolate Chips Fiberful Granola Bar for some extra sweetness.

Okay, may I just say, these granola bars are the bomb. Seriously, they pack in 9g of fiber in one bar, have only 120 calories, have decently healthy ingredients, and taste like a Chewy bar! (For you girls trying to stop eating Chewy bars, these are a GREAT alternative.)

The only bone I have to pick with this granola bar is how small they are. I'd say it's about 3.5 inches or so. So for me at least, this wouldn't work solo as a snack. But for yogurt topping? Yes ma'am!

I also added in a bit of Truvia to kick up the sweet factor.

This breakfast ACTUALLY kept me full all morning. As in, I was ready to eat by lunch time, but my thoughts hadn't been consumed by food for 4 hours. Yay!

And okay, look at the amount of protein this meal kicked in. 29 grams, whoop whoop! I know that ain't a ton for a lot of y'all, but for me, 29g in one meal other than chicken/steak is pretty good!

Lunch
Okay, you know you go to private school (yes, I do, and unlike the stereotype, I PINKY SWEAR, we aren't all rich snobs.), when for lunch, the following is offered.
- Kale Caesar Salad
- Hard-boiled eggs (unpictured, it went straight into my mouth!)
- Tofu Stir-fry (on the bottom)

Plus my apple on the side. This was my first time trying kale, and I'm not sure if it was just the salad, but BOY, it's salty! Not in a bad way, of course, I just didn't expect that much flavor!
I went back for another bowl of the kale, then unfortunately, had to head to Honors Biology :( On the bright side, we were discussing the case of OJ Simpson...interesting, right?

Jumpin' 'n Stuff

So after school today, myself and a few of the other cheerleaders met with my cheer coach to work on jumps for before Cheer Tryouts (March 8th!). We ran a lap around the track just to loosen up, then stretched out to jump.

Dinner

After jumping over and over and over and over at school, it was time to come home. I have a GIANT Honors History test tomorrow, (Ancient Greece, anyone?) and had to start studying right away, so dinner was delayed a few hours. I grabbed a couple handfuls of Goldfish, then headed to the desk.

Right around 8:30pm or so, I took a break and made my way downstairs for some more study fuel.

I made myself 1.5 cups of leftover black bean soup from Trader Joe's, along with veggies 'n mustard (don't hate 'til you try it!), and a banana. I also had an (unpictured) serving of PB2 as well.

For anyone curious to what my "Mug of the Day" says, it's a winner!

No matter how stressed I get (which is a lot), or how challenging life is, always gotta remember, Life is good :)

Questions:

* Do you cheer lead? Have you ever cheered? What was the most challenging part of cheer for you?

* What is the strangest lunch options offered at your school/office/etc.? Do you eat it?

* How do you like your protein in the mornings?
